Whitehall Lane

The aromas are somewhat exotic, melding spicy aromas with dark cherry and blackberry notes and hi-lighted by hints of violet and lavender. The flavors are similar to the aromas with sandalwood and vanilla just beginning to give ground to the greater fruit below. It finishes long and silky, revealing its cherry core in the delicious finish. The wine is ready to enjoy now and will evolve with cellaring to 2012.

Wine Enthusiast

A beautiful Merlot, noble and classic. It doesn't have the stuffing for cellaring, but is absolutely lovely now, with fine, brisk tannins framing flavors of cherries, herbs and sweet oak, and a lingering finish. Easy to find, with 12,100 cases produced.

Score: 92. —Steve Heimoff, December 01, 2009.

Wine Spectator

Appealing red currant and toasty sage aromas lead to sleek, supple black cherry, toasty vanilla and spice flavors. Drink now through 2014.

Score: 89. —Tim Fish, November 30, 2009.
