Trimbach
The predominately "Keuper" marl-limestone soils on which it is produced lend this rare wine a full and powerful style. Produced from old vines from the former wine estate of the Lords of Ribeaupierre, the grapes are selected and harvested at the peak of their ripeness. It is a wine with flowery and spicy aromas and a dry personality, and yet so rich and so fruity that it almost hints at sweetness ... a mere illusion. In youth, the roundness and viscosity can mask its typical dryness as well as the underlying finesse which is the Trimbach trademark. This Gewurztraminer is only produced in the very best vintages and it can be cellared for ageing for up to 20 years.
Pair with: foie gras, spicy and aromatic dishes, cheeses and fresh fruit-based desserts.
Wine Spectator
A rich, layered wine, presented in a lissome, elegant package. Fresh, with a subtle juiciness and initial flavors of ripe yellow apple, dried apricot, almond and candle wax that are accented by smoke, spring blossom, fennel seed and candied citrus peel. Intriguing and well-integrated, with a long, lingering finish. Drink now through 2024.

Pea tendrils and rose petals also dominate the nose of the 2004 Gewurztraminer Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre. Polished and refined on the palate, with clarity and abundant inner-mouth perfume, subtle spice, and suggestions of creaminess balanced against a surprisingly bright sense of acidity this finishes with smoke and flowers, juicy and penetrating if relatively spare and restrained.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
